CITY OF RIVERSIDE: WHILE YOU’RE WEARING A MASK OVER YOUR NOSE, THEY’RE SELLING THE STORE UNDER YOUR NOSE.

Posted: May 23, 2020 in Uncategorized

THE GREAT 2020 FIRE SALE IS ON!  LOW, LOW PRICES FOR A LIMITED TIME!

Since 2011 TMC has been consistently telling you that the City of Riverside would eventually have to deal with the issue of unsustainable budgets, driven in large part by unsustainable personnel compensation, driven by unsustainable pensions, driven by unsustainable corruption.  It looks like that day is finally here.

We recall at one point former (and fired) City Manager John Russo wanted to sell Riverside Public (owned by you!) Utilities to deal with the pension issue.  According to former Councilman Steve Adams it went something like this: Russo gave an “order” to former RPU General Manager Girish Balanchandran right before the recent 5-year water and electric rate increases,” to ask for the stars, moon and the sky… so that we can raise these rates, fluff up the utility and our reserves, so we can sell it.”  Adams goes on to say that Russo never contacted the Council regarding this strategy, nor had he had ever contacted the appointed RPU Board either – the people and their representatives were to be left in the dark as long as possible by Mr. Sunshine Act.  Russo believed he could sell at least the electric part of the utility and use the proceeds to pay his and his public employee buddies’ pensions.

THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR RATE HIKES

Now City Manager Zelinka and his merry band of union-owned Councilmembers find it necessary to sell off many of Riverside’s public assets according to the next Tuesday’s Council agenda.  We knew this was inevitable, due to one-sided union deals over the past two decades.  We can tell you with certainty that even with the selling of these properties, it will still not be enough – it’s just throwing good money after bad.  It wasn’t enough when they tricked you into passing Measure A!  It wasn’t even enough when they sold you Measure Z!  Heck, it wasn’t enough when they gave the go ahead to $525 million in pension obligation bonds that we financially enslave your children just a few weeks ago.  Public employee unions continue to spew propaganda, vehemently lying to the public about the real need for all these new revenue measures: more raises, more perks, better benefits and the King Daddy of them all – to assure their members will be able to cash in on their multi-million dollar pensions when they retire, many times in their 50s.

While the taxpayers were confined to their homes due to the COVID-19 situation, it was the perfect crisis, and perfect timing to sell off some of our more prominent properties for the the benefit of Riverside public employee unions.

Here are some of the properties that the City would like to sell, and probably for much less than they are worth in a buyers’ market now, because they are simply in desperate need for liquid assets (and we wouldn’t be surprised if they already have buyers waiting in the wings):

WHO OWNS THESE?  THE PUBLIC, OR REALLY OUR PUBLIC EMPLOYEES?

If this doesn’t bother City residents and taxpayers, it should.  Remember, the plan is to sell publicly-owned properties, which includes some of the most prominent valuable in the City, for the benefit of public pensions, and use COVID-19 as an excuse as to why this needs to be done financially, despite healthy financial reserves at the City ahead of COVID hitting.  As an added benefit, with folks concentrating on the crisis and scared to leave their homes, coupled with the City deliberately making no attempt to inform the public, and an asleep-at-the-wheel Fourth Estate, no one would find out until it was too late.  Let’s just nonchalantly call these properties ‘surplus!’  Really, who’s going to know?  These properties include the Riverside City Library, the Riverside City Convention Center, the Riverside City Municipal Auditorium and the infamous Fox Theater.  Here is the revised report, let me emphasize…revised, because issue is fluid and ongoing.

…and of course, the revised property list.  So again, will the usual suspects be looking for direction from their union handlers on what we, the general public should give in tribute?  Suspects such as Councilman Andy Melendrez, Councilman Jim Perry, Councilman Ronaldo Fierro, Councilman Steve Hemenway, Councilwoman Gaby Plascencia; and if your live in the wonderful Wood Streets in Ward 1, our darling, Councilwoman Erin Edwards?

Click on image to enlarge – We wonder how listing the Convention Center will affect future business?

Once more, these are the same people who are giving the taxpaying community direction on the COVID-19, and ordering business shutdowns and home arrest, while real science is ignored.  All-the-while 30,000 people gather together safely at Morongo Casino…. “Good Times!”  We were there and nobody seemed worried about the flu.  Perhaps people are finally tired and are just not going to take it anymore!

What we are being told is that an N95 Mask is what is needed to protect against COVID-19, but we see this from County of Riverside Dr. Cameron Kaiser, who wears a loosely-tied bandana worthy of a spaghetti-western villain.  What gives?  Real science states that using a bandana is like using a chain link fence to prevent a swarm of mosquitos from going through it!  Cameron is a joke.

CAMERON KAISER – DOES HE THINKS HE’S BADASS BOBBY BANDITO?

The Infamous Pandemic Video has been banned and censored by all mainstream social media outlets…but why?  My dad, who fought on the shores of Normandy, France would not accept this.  Not in the America he vehemently fought for that day of June 6, 1944.  We The People should make our own decisions that affect us, regardless of what government “tells” us, as long as we’re not hurting anyone or ourselves in the process.  When the nanny-state tries to force the citizenry to do otherwise, and without offering substantive and procedural due process, it becomes time for civil disobedience until the powers-that-be get the message.  Here is the video: You The People make your own decision, as it should be.  Isn’t that the American way?  What are the ruling class so afraid of?

The city airport is not on the list?? Lots of valuable land for development that could be broken into smaller pieces for easier sale. How many local residents use the airport? I bet they are not middle income. Civil aviation could easily relocate to Corona, Chino, Ontario, San Berdo, Rialto, Redlands or Flabobb.

WHY’LL? Rather an improper use of the word, doesn’t even work in your sentence and what’s worse, distracted me from whatever you’re rambling about….

    • Thanks for the correction Bennett! TMC may not be for everybody, so I must direct you to a really good news source the Press Enterprise, they even charge a subscription fee, and have real editors.

The best day 4 river city is when they file chapter 9 BK (which is what should be on the agenda) , & then you can start rebuilding all the damage that has been done !!!
