Beware of the latest in Measure-O propaganda sent out by RUSD in order to increase your property taxes, after all, because it is all about the children and Outstanding Riverside Schools! Their propaganda piece still won’t tell you the voter how much they need and how you are going to pay for it! What are they afraid of?

According to the latest propaganda hit piece paid by teacher union monies received from dues from teacher salaries paid by taxpayers. They would like to Make Children Safe, shouldn’t they be Making Children Smarter? Want a Safe and Smart school district? Move to Temecula!

15 years ago RUSD passed a $180,000,000 school bond that is currently assessed on your property tax bill today. I’m guessing that BB&K was the bond council 15 years ago and will serve as the bond Council today. I know Tilden and Coil did all the construction on the schools. It’s a win, win for the unions, which you can be rest assured they will use due monies to pit more measures and campaigns against you the taxpayers. Of course these people will support this measure. At this point it’s all about personal gain not about protecting the taxpayer. What Measure-O people are afraid to tell you is that the cost is in the form of a $392 Million Dollar Bond (Riverside Unified School Bond), which will be assessed on you Property Taxes. For example:
This November 2016, you will also be voting on another tax, Measure-O (Riverside Unified School Bond). The tax rate statement states $59 per $100,000.00 of home value, but it also states “best estimate,” so it can very well be upwards to a $100.00! If it passes, this will increase your property taxes $100.00 per every $100,000.00 of what your house is worth. So if you have a $400,000.00 home, your new additional property tax will be $400.00 on top of what you are already paying. Then add your new sales tax (Measure Z), which can be an additional $100.00 or more per year. You now have a total approximation of $500.00 per year additional tax. How about the length of the bond? It states to be determined, it could be 25 years to 35 year, they aren’t even sure of that! I’m sure all of you do remember there will be a sewer increase this year, and don’t forget Public Utilities will also have their hand out soon. The State and the Federal Government may also need more money since they have also been incompetent with spending your tax monies as well.
How much more can you afford Folks? It’s not the fault of the taxpayer/homeowner, that the school board has been running the city schools into the ground. 15 years ago you/taxpayer approved a 180,000,000 school bond that is currently assessed on your property tax. Now they want to double down to almost 400,000,000. In 15 more years they are going to probably ask for a billion dollar bond. Before you know it your School Bond assessment on your property tax bill will be more than the tax itself.
TAXES TAXES and more TAXES when will it stop. There are some home owners that pay their property taxes, Old School bond assessments, Mella roos tax, or Community service District tax. and now they want another School Bond Tax Assessment. This tax could be the straw that broke the Camels back.
If you are already getting hosed and tazed by Measure-Z, don’t get the book thrown at you by passing Measure-O. Make them live within their means, hell, we all have to, don’t we? Send government a message!

I always vote no on any new taxes. Especially these stupid school bonds. It will probably pass, as there are too many stupid people out there voting. Your right, the Feds and state are gonna be looking to raise taxes also.
Regarding the Yes on measure o flyer, what makes these people listed as community leaders, community leaders? The list of elected officials is a list of crooks that many have been in office too long. The other people listed are probably all employees of RUSD, as I see some familiar names.
The people running our educational system are a bunch of incompetent idiots. My kids attend RCC and can’t get many of the classes they need to continue on in their education. My daughter has made repeated appointments with a counselor who is supposed to assist her with enrolling in some classes. This counselor is never in her office.
What a disgrace.
Like most ballot measures, the stated use of the tax increase is seldom the actual use of the money. If the CA Teachers Union is tied to any proposition, you can be sure the stated use is obfuscation to the nth degree. The only thing the Teachers Union is interested in, is trying to bring solvency to their bloated pension and retirement programs, that are the biggest single deficit line item in the State budget. They donate unchecked to the democrat politicians in exchange for them leaving their bloated pensions and benefits alone. Yes, our politicians are bought into office, not elected. This also goes for all public employee unions. They are a cancer in America. Ever hear about pension spiking? Yea, the public employees are rife with this practice, that further destroys any chance of an improved budget. There is no honesty in any public employee, or their unions. JUST SAY NO TO NEW TAXES OR BONDS.

Income @ $ 30,000 a year only qualifies for $150,000 home, which there are not many here.
So everyone should be voting on NO on Measure O.
Why place more burdens on current residents, let alone their ability to have their own home?
People on pensions, disability and s.s. etc, don’t always get very much to live on.
So if we go on the bare minimum average. Here is how horrible these taxes would be.
Gross annual income 30,000.
Taxes @ -20%. -6,000.
Net take home. + 24,000.
Mortgage /Rent.
@ $1800. X 12 – 21,600.
Sub bal. + 2,400.
Riverside utilites.
Min. $250. X 12. – 3,000.
Sub @ negative. – 600.
Additional taxes
from Measure O min. -300.
Sub @ negative. – 900.
But you still need to buy
Food
Auto Gas
Health ins
Auto Insurance
Auto payment
Cell
Etc
Now remember Measure Z, if voted in, will increase the sales tax on everything you buy. EVERYTHING, take that in for a moment.
You will have to pay 90 cents for every $10 dollar spent.
The only things not taxed will be food from grocery stores.
So how much do you spend a month?
AND remember, restaurants and take out are taxed, because it is a service.
That drink you order, is also taxed, and that will go up.
